A Message From The ChildrenOnce upon a time, there were two children skating on a frozen lake. All was bright and joyful till suddenly, the ice broke and one of them fell between the cracks into the frozen water. The other, seeing that his companion was going to drown, took a stone and pounded with all his might till he opened a hole big enough to pull his friend out. Some adults passing by, saw the scene and were amazed that one young boy had managed to save his friend in such a courageous and self-less way.
‘How did you do it,’ one of them asked.
‘I don’t know’, replied the child. ‘I just did it. He was my friend’.
‘I know how he did it’, said one of the adults present, a wise old man of the place.
‘How’? They all asked
‘There was no one near enough to tell him that it was impossible’.
Many of our children’s lives are broken because no one believes in them. Because through situations of violence, poverty, and lack of opportunity, their dreams are crushed. The world tells them that it is impossible. And the world of the impossible is made up more often than not, of you and me.
If you want to, you can change that now by giving something to this cause which surely must be one of the noblest of all. Wasn’t it Christ who said; ‘what you do to and for the least of these little ones, you do unto me’
